The AK5K fun run previously scheduled for March 29 has moved to Sunday, April 19 due to weather uncertainty. The 5K will be held at the Cleveland County YMCA to promote Global Journey.
Profits from the run will sponsor the Albania/Kosovo Mission Team from Journey Church. The mission team will use the money they raise when they travel to Albania and Kosovo on May 18 for two and a half weeks to share the Gospel with the people there.
Registration for AK5K begins at 1pm in the East parking lot of the YMCA located at 1350 Lexington Avenue in Norman, Oklahoma. The race begins at 2pm. Admission fee is twenty-five dollars a person, which covers a drink and a t-shirt.
“The AK5K is a fun run that we are putting on to raise money for our mission team, there are six of us, to go to Albania and Kosovo,” Courtney Davison said. “The fun run is a great way to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise money for a good cause.”

During their trip, the team will be working with the youth through community and sports outreach and pouring into long-term missionaries and staff that relentlessly serve the youth in Albania. Also, the team will briefly travel to Kosovo to assist with a church-training program and encourage the believers that minister there.
To sign up for the 5K, contact Courtney at cdavison.stu@okcu.edu or join the Facebook group “AK 5K.”
You can also support the team through prayer as they are preparing for the trip during the next two months and for their time in Albania and Kosovo. Please pray for the safety of the team as they travel, for unity as a team as they serve together and for the team’s strength to constantly remain close to God and always seek His word.
