Summer has to be my favorite time of year! I love everything about it…particularly the warm weather, bright sunshine and long days. This summer is going to be one of the best yet. My schedules are set and plane tickets purchased. I’m taking advantage of my passport and adding more states and countries to my travel list. Not only that, but most importantly, I will be doing what I love – sharing the name of Jesus Christ around the world!
First, Glorieta Summer Camps has hired me for a second summer as photojournalist/webmaster for boys and girls camps and family camps.
I will be living in the beautiful mountains of New Mexico working alongside an amazing staff (five of us are returning from last summer!!) and serving kids. It is the perfect job – writing stories, taking pictures, teaching Bible study and witnessing to students.
Next, I’m going to Alaska!
My beautiful and amazing friend Amanda Mobbs moved to Alaska this year. Mandy and I graduated from OU together. We were both in Sigma Phi Lambda sorority and went to church together. I miss her so much that I’m going all the way across country to visit. We are going hiking in the mountains and swimming in the Arctic Ocean. You can read about her current adventures in Alaska on her blog site – http://mandymobbs.blogspot.com/
Finally, my church college group will be taking a mission trip to Honduras in July.
Our church sponsors Helping Hand’s orphanage, which we will be working with for a week. I absolutely love being with kids. I miss the kids from the Filipino orphanage so much! Getting to spend time with orphans in Honduras is going to be an answered prayer. We will also be doing community evangelism and work with a local church.
Please begin praying for my travels, my ministry and God’s provision. I will definitely keep you all posted with stories and pictures from each of my journeys!
