Fun Friday! The Newlywed Game

My lovely friend Veronica is co-hosting a new linkup this week!  It’s The Newlywed Game!  And I’ve decided to play, along with my husband Chris (who didn’t have a choice).   Instructions from Veronica – Here’s the dealio: each week Karla will post questions for us to answer which we’ll post on Friday. Make sure to distinguish between your answers.

Here we go!!  My answers are purple, Chris’ answers are red.

The Newlywed Game #2

ONE:What was it about your spouse that made you think they were “the one”?
I was half way around the world serving as a missionary in Nepal when I realized that I couldn’t do life without Chris.  It was the first time in our lives we had been apart for so long and I wanted him to be with me.  I knew at that point that I wanted to be with him, or no one at all for the rest of my life.

Our conversations. I always knew Sara could be someone I could marry because I knew I needed that. You are pretty too, that didn’t hurt 😉

TWO:What is your spouse’s most annoying habit?
I will ask Chris to pick up something and he moves it from one side of the room to a new pile on the other side of the room.
I plead the fifth.

THREE:Does your spouse have to sleep on “their side of the bed” and if so which side (if you’re lying on the bed looking at the ceiling)?Chris likes to avoid sitting in the same place at church and also sleeping on the same side of the bed.  We switch it up to avoid routine.  I don’t mind.  I tend to sleep ALL over the bed every night.
Yes. Right.

FOUR:How are you planning on spending your Valentines Day? (simple or outrageous?)Neither of us have ever really liked Valentines Day.  We will probably just avoid it and treat it like any other day.

It’s a surprise…Lol

FIVE:Who usually ends up trying to resolve an argument (aka being the “bigger person”?)There are no “resolving” any arguments.  Both of us believe we are the smartest person in the world and always right.  We’ve learned to ‘agree to disagree’ and ignore the other’s opinion if we don’t like it.
It depends on who was wrong. We both usually do at different times, her moreso than me :p

SIX:How many kids do you plan to have one day, if any?I think we’ve decided to have one biological child, and will adopt up to three.  Making four total.  But, we are waiting until after we turn 30 (if possible).
14…Lol or 2-3

SEVEN:What is your spouse’s best friend’s name? And do you get along with him/her?Chris has lots of friends.  He hangs out with James Foster, who was my friend first, and Brandon Goforth, who was also my friend first…I’m sensing a pattern here.My spouse doesn’t like people. But seriously I’m her best friend. I get along with him pretty well.

EIGHT:If your spouse one day told you they were an ex-convict, how would you react?I wouldn’t be surprised.  Chris is brilliant.  He tells me all the time different ways he can get around rules and most the time they make sense, which is scary.    Surprised considering I knew her all the time she was eligible to be a convict. And she never was. Unless those mission trips were actually prison sentences.

NINE:Do you wish your spouse would stop doing a particular routine? Chris just works all the time.  I wish he’d take more time for himself.  And he’s making a good effort to do so.

Yes.  Next question.

TEN:Did the honeymoon go exactly as planned?Yes.  Our honeymoon was fabulous!  The day before the wedding, however, Chris’ mom drugged me.  I think it was her own way of asking me to reconsider, or forcing me to go through with it.  I’ll have to tell that story sometime.  Yes, until we took sea sickness pills!  And we didn’t die. Success.

  1. haha glad you participated in the link-up! It's fun to see yall's answers, especially because I know you both in real life. Chris' answers are much like Kevins, short but sweet and usually right on. 🙂

  2. Oh my gosh your husband's answers are freaking priceless. He had me cracking up the whole entire time. Hahaa. Thank you SO much for linking up! Looooved reading these answers! =D

  3. "Unless those mission trips were actually prison sentences." lol! Hilarious! I also like your reasoning about why it wouldn't be all that surprising if your husband were a convict. My husband sometimes scares me with the creative ways he can think up to break rules!
