Best Three Months Ever!

I hope you had the chance to meet blogger Jenni @ Story of My Life!  She brilliantly created Blogtember! Wednesday, September 4: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do?
I love this question, because just a few days ago while browsing Twitter, I happened to see this:

I LOVE volunteering, so obviously, I had to click the link.

Basically, you spend three months in the middle of the ocean (absolutely gorgeous!!) and help with habitat restoration and facilities management!! HOW COOL!
So I know nothing about facilities management?  I love the beach!  And I’m a fast learner.
The problem: I have a full-time job.
I decided to ask Mr. Rosenthal if he thought my boss would let me off work for three whole months to live in the ocean and save ocean creatures.  His reply, “Don’t ask, don’t get.”

Well played, Robert!
Unfortunately, I still haven’t worked up the courage to ask my boss for three months off work…or my husband.
Honestly, if I were given three months to do anything I wanted, though Hawaii looks enticing, I wouldn’t want to be a Maintenance Technician.  When I answered Robert’s tweet, I was only dreaming.
If I did have three months, I would browse Idealist, in search of a volunteer opportunity in South East Asia.  My DREAM, I mean DREAM job would be working with a human-trafficking agency to rescue young women from sex slavery, using my skills in media and pointing the women to true freedom in Jesus!
Kayan women of Thailand, National Geographic Channel, Taboo show. http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/news-taboo-neck-rings-kayan-women-thailand, and http://wearetherealdeal.com/2011/08/27/what-would-you-do-to-feel-beautiful/http://pinterest.com/pin/185069865907071997/
If I had three months, I’d be there in a heartbeat.  If I had the rest of my life and the opportunity to work free of charge to save lives in this way, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

  1. This sounds like such a fantastic route to take. Thanks for all the links as well. So very helpful. I also think advice like Mr. Rosenthal gave is soooo unhelpful. :~) Have a great day writing to today's prompt. Happy #Blogtember!
