Chris and I are coming up on 10 months of being married! The one year mark isn’t far away. We have a fun vacation/anniversary trip planned. Beach, Sun, Bikini, Book. I can’t wait!
It’s been almost a year and the farther away we get from our wedding date, the more my memories of our special day slip away. It’s bittersweet. I love growing with Chris and seeing our relationship evolve. However, it is sad to lose those moments in time.
One thing I will never forget about our wedding day is how Chris looked at me that day.
We were both so full of joy, and I could see it in his eyes. The love he displayed for me was obvious to everyone there. I knew without a doubt that he cared for me deeply.
I’m sure you’ve seen those special photos of the groom, when he see’s his bride for the very first time in her white dress.

That is a once in a lifetime moment! And I think every girl wants a photo like this. At that very moment, his face says it all. It’s simply beautiful.
Remembering the way Chris looked at me just melts my heart.
In Isaiah 62, we see this same beautiful picture painted…
The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see—
a splendid crown in the hand of God…
Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight”
and “The Bride of God,”
for the Lord delights in you
and will claim you as his bride…
Then God will rejoice over you
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.
God delights in us. He claims us as his own. He rejoices in us! Just as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.
When I think back to our wedding day, and rest in the love I was shown by my husband, I’m also reminded that this is how God sees me. This is how God loves me.
I am important and loved and cared deeply for by my spouse, but also by my Jesus, the King of the universe. He loves me THAT much. Like a bridegroom. And He loves you that much too.
