The Thankful Project: A Person

The thankful project: an exercise in practicing gratitudeSpecial thanks to Kenzie from Chasing Happy for creating the prompt!

Day 1: A person – Chris SannerI am thankful for my sweet husband Chris.

For years, Chris was one of my best friends.  Anytime I needed someone to talk to, someone to make me laugh or someone to give me a hug, I could go to Chris.  Those years we spent so much time together discussing our dreams of the future, neither of us had any idea God was preparing us for one another.

We had an amazing few months of dating, followed by a couple of awesome months of being engaged.  But, nothing has compared to the past 10 months that I have spent being married to my best friend.  God has truly blessed me beyond measure with a relationship so much better than I could have imagined!

I wanted to share a few reasons why I am thankful for my hubby.

1. I am thankful for Chris’ accepting heart.

Chris is so kind.  He never meets a stranger.  He has room in his heart for anyone – regardless of where they come from, what they do, how much money they make, what they look like, what they believe.  He is optimistic about all people and holds back all judgement.

2. I am thankful for Chris’ patience.

From the moment we started dating, Chris has shown so much patience towards me and my wishes.  He respects that change takes time, that healing is a process and that life isn’t instantly what we want it to be.  Chris is content to wait for God’s best.

3. I am thankful for Chris’ creativity.  My husband is an artist.  His photography is captivating.  He can design a website like no one else.  He is almost as good of a writer as I am.  🙂  And he creates pretty fantastic videos.   If you don’t believe me, check out tornadotitans.com!

I am so thankful for our beautiful life together!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 2: A Role You’ve Played!

  1. I love hearing a little bit of your love story. I always like the stories that start out as “just friends,” having no idea what was to come!
