D.C. Monuments and My Experiences

The husband and I spent a week in Washington D.C. This was his fourth trip to the nations capitol, making him an expert tour guide! The first day of our vacation we hit up most of the monuments.

It was a neat experience to see in person the buildings and history that I’d only read about or seen on television before. Seeing the markers built to honor the individuals who made our country what it is today is touching. I honestly surprised myself as I cried walking through the war memorials. It’s just not fair that so many people had to die in order for us to live free. There is nothing we can do to repay families who lost loved ones, and not near enough we could do to thank those who fought for us and have returned to live among us.
