About Me

Thanks for stopping by!  I’m OkieWriterSara – an Oklahoma girl named Sara with a passion for using my gift in writing and communications to bring glory to God and serve others.

More about me:

I am a follower of Jesus Christ“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths” Proverbs 3:5-6. I’ve been in a relationship with Him for as long as I can remember.  My desire is to bring glory to God in and through everything that I do.

I am a feminist.  In Christ, we are all created equal – regardless of gender.  Women have been degraded and mistreated in societies and cultures all over the world.  My hope is that us, as females, can find our true value in Jesus, despite what society says about us.

I am an artist with the goal of restoration.  That’s what Jesus has done for me.  Ephesians 2:10 says so…”For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”  I think knowing that I’m a masterpiece of my Creator drives me to create beauty in all things.  I desire it.  I crave it.  My body longs for it.  And I want to do more of it.  That includes photography, writing, crafting, dancing and even cleaning.

I am a Native American, member of the Chickasaw Nation.  My family takes great pride in our nation as they have assisted with our housing, my higher education, the adoption of two of my siblings, my health care.  I live under the Chickasaw government through which I vote for our leaders and support them in making our nation a better place.  The Unconquerable People.

I am a wife to my best friend.  Chris and I got married on the beach in December 2012.  It was a dream come true!  He is the love of my life and my partner in ministry.  I discovered while living in a foreign country that I am better with him than without.

I am a world traveler.  God has given me such a love for people different than myself.  “Therefore go and make disciples of ALL nations” Matthew 28:19. I enjoy exploring new places and people.  We are blessed beyond measure and called to go and give and serve.  I’ve visited seven countries and pray that I am able to see more.

I am a momma to a cute little fawn Pug named Suruchi (meaning the delightful one) and a Cocker-Pug named Maggie (after Margaret Mead, philanthropist and world changer).  You can follow their adventures on Instagram, @puggymomma!
